So I have finished my IT video assignment! I transcribed three famous movie themes, arranged them in a medley and overlaid photo stills from the films. Enjoy! :D

The IT Project...

So, my newest assignment for TY is to create a 3- minute video using Apple iMovie. I have an idea that I'm ready to set into motion- I have the order of the short film laid out, and I have my willing speakers and performers ready to rock! Video to follow, I'm so excited to present it!

Swim A Mile With A Smile!

On Friday the 20th of April, the St Wolstan's Transition Year group travelled to the National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown to take part in the Ian Daly Swim a Mile With A Smile Challenge. All of the girls raised money for the event, which donates all the money raised to Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin, and Barrettstown. I myself didn't swim, but I counted the number of lengths that the girls were doing. 64 lengths of the 25- metre pool was the equivalent to one mile, and in total the girls swam over 23 miles! It was a great success, and the girls who swam a mile by themselves were delighted. We then went to get a well- deserved lunch in the Blanchardstown Centre. It was a great day, and everyone was over the moon with how the trip went! :)

The Assignment...

So, today Mrs. L gave us an assignment- to produce a video between 1 and 3 minutes, based on anything we want. Watch this space, I have a big idea coming! :)

The Update: Homeless

Our TY drama "Homeless" has qualified for the national final at Briery Gap in Cork! All of the girls involved are delighted, and we can't wait to act on stage again in March. The other play, "The Effects of War", unfortunately did not get through, but all the hard work and effort they put in was really reflected in their performance onstage in Mullingar. HArd luck girls, but roll on Cork!

Mullingar, ho!

On Tuesday, we took part in a drama competition in Mullingar Arts Centre. Our class split in to 2 groups and we each wrote a play: One on homelessness, and one on war. I was in charge of lighting and sound, so I sat up the back of the theatre controlling the lights and sound system. Both of the plays looked fantastic, and the judge seemed very impressed, and gave us some great feedback.
